Amboise Brass band Festival 6th to 8th June 2014

Would anyone be interested in travelling to Amboise, France at the beginning of June 2014 for the annual brass band competition?
6th, 7th and 8th June 2014

No pressure of tank done nothing said about filter but told fuel flow is normal with no air,  pump should start at 290 pressure but it's only 50 pressure even when running it's only 350 instead of 460

Will be lower pressure Bob because stack pipe in tank will be blocked up with dirt so causing lower pressure. If they blow back down fuel system the engine will run slightly better but will not be a permanent repair. A pump either runs or it doesn't in our experience. I understand from previous posts that you drove to the pub.

Morning all, well we being transported to a Merc garage @ 9.00 where hopefully they can source a fuel pump, fit and we will be on our way, see you soon at Nazelles Mark may get there before Jan if things go too plan.
Mark can you explain the delay of us and Baza when you get there, thanks a dejected Barb, Bob, Baza n Rina.

Another delay as the truck the RAC sent was too small so now waiting for a low loader to arrive suppose to be 14.30 but who knows, could be going tonight if the plans works but I have my doubts.

Have they managed to find a pump Bob?

dont forget bob offer still stands if bazza wonts to catch up with others can pick ya up take ya home or come here till sorted, i am sure bailey will let ya have his basket , 

Just spoke to Bob, Buffy will be at the garage in the next half an hour or so, they have got the parts and will get on with the job today, reckon it is a 2 hour job and the workshop is open till 10pm, staying there overnight and hopefully leaving early morning and getting on the train at 14:00 tomorrow

Hi all, at Folkestone missed our booked train now go at 05.50 tomorrow or pay £96 for today ( no chance ) m/h running sweetly again and it was just a dickie injector that cost me 3 days & £1200 nuf to make you :-( still meeting Julie n Mark tomorrow then of to join Jan n Bazza for a few good days.

Major holdup at Eurotunnel as the train we should have got 14.50 broke down half way through then they had trouble with the recovery one, long delays here today for everyone.

£1200? surely they refunded the cost of the pump

Not sure Ken, but once its fitted and had fuel pumped through it to test it was the right part, doesn't it become 2nd hand?  Personally, I think the garage should've run some diagnostic tests and not just accepted the RAC's diagnosis, hey ho - $h1t happens.

The garage did take the pump off and put the old one back on.
I've seen this a lot though, parts being fitted and not cured the problem yet they have been left on and charged for.
They did run diagnostics but they don't always tell you exactly what the cause is

We all arrived here safe & sound on Thursday, had a great time cycling into town a couple of times watched the brass band outside a nice bar 30 degrees at one point, been fishing twice Baza nearly caught a fish this big!!!,I bought a second hand landing net today at flea market for €6!.
Moving off tomorrow to find another spot for fishing. Bye bye for now.

Well after 10 days meandering along the loire we are breaking off with the others, have had good weather good entertainment & most of all a great time.
Julie & I are now heading for Mont-st-Michel for the final part of our trip.

Hi Mark, we are there too.  We are not on the Aire, we are on the site Aux Pommiers at Bouvier 14e with ACSI.  Very nice with free wifi and we are attempting the walk to the Mont tomorrow.  Maybe we will see you there

We are now Back in the UK after a great trip with good company, and a big thank you to Rina n Baza for sticking it out with us when we broke down and the good times we had after leaving Amboise. So pleased Julie n Mark had a nice break as well and the paella was lovely.Hope Jan n Barrie are still enjoying their jaunt around Brittany.

I will do a blog when we get home in a few days with all the details and pics.

Thank you Bob for organising our friendly get together at Amboise, the weather was fabulous apart from 1 day/night where it rained but the electrical storm was fantastic that night we all stayed out watching it with a few more vins than usual.

Hi all, just arrived home and got loads of unloading to do so better get some done. I have scanned the PC and done a software update and all is running well except "Homers" which is very slow loading the pages, anyone experienced the same problem as everything else is working normally.

I will catch up on all the posts later when settled down.

Google Chrome by any chance Bob?
I had trouble yesterday, everything OK but this site, tried it on my phone, tablet and on this PC using IE and everything was OK.
I had to uninstall Chrome and re-install it and everything was fine.
I hadn't changed anything so don't know why it did it but all the settings looked OK

All OK now Ken, yes it was G.Chrome
