I have just booked my return trip through the tunnel for the Amboise meet and up to now I will be joined by Baza n Rina and Hugh n Barbara for the outgoing trip.

Departing Folkestone 09.50hrs 01/06/2014

Returning Coquelles 09.50hrs 28/06/2014

Cost £23 return

Anyone wanting to join us will be more that welcome, we will be doing the 300 mile trip to Amboise in two parts overnighting at a midway destination yet to be decided.

The campsite is closed until April but they have two emails from me requesting an area where we can all park together and and with EHU (if you require it)

I will contact the site when it reopens in April about booking.

Not sure when we are travelling yet Bob, we wont know until beginning of May, what with work etc...
but we know we will be there on the Wednesday 4th at the latest.   

Great news Mark, we will on site on the 2nd and have everything sorted out when you arrive.

Only just spotted your post Bob, were you joking about the return price.    

Anyway we are going over a few days before you and after spending some with family will head on down to Amboise to join you all. Were you planning on booking the pitches for us all when the site opens in April or will we need to do it ourselves.

Presume he must have but he didn't say and I was feeling    to think I had missed a good deal. We used ours as well.

yes Jan we did use Tesco vouchers but like Baza we had some stolen from our a/c so did not have enough, been in touch with Tesco and they will replace them in the February.

No Jan we will all have to book our own, but i will get in April and get us all grouped togethere hopefully and I see if they will give us a discount.

Can you email us when you have been in contact with them and then I will book ours.

We have been to this Festival several times and a good time was had by all.
The Municipal Campsite was where we stayed with just one unfortunate event in 2012 with three vans being robbed.  In 2011 we had to share the site with a large Dog Show.  Hot Air Balloons use the adjacent field to take people on trips upto three balloons at a time, quite spectacular.  Also a High School from County Durham hold their annual camp about this time. They have an wonderful set up and the kids are great ( own Band in 2012).  If you are using this site we may see you there along with other friends.
Very big market on Sunday Morning.

I have learnt that the site has put the discount up from 10 units to 12 units, I will enquire further when they reopen but it does not look likely we will get 12 units,things may change nearer the date of the meet but by then we will have all had to have booked individually. Watch this space

Yes Bob really looking forward to getting there its been nearly 6 month since we were over there now.

Getting very close to the last chance to put your name down for a great trip to Amboise Brass Band Contest, a fab weekend of music, markets, chateaus and fine food on a river campsite surrounded by stunning French countryside.

You can still attend but on Tuesday 1st April i will be contacting them for a discount and as we have only 7 members committed we need 5 more to make the 12 they require for a discount so if we do not have the require Nos. we will all have to book separately but I will ask for an area for the MotorHomers to be parked all together so we can socialise in the evenings together.

The event is only on from the 6th-8th June so you can arrive and leave as you wish, I expect to be on site from the 2nd June crossing on the 1st through the tunnel and staying one night en-route, if anyone wants to join us at our overnight stop please let me know and I will give you the co-ords. Its only in a wee village but it has a bar and restaurant across the road and is safe and on route.

So if you have already not looked at the full post go have a look and see if you are interested.

If you could give us the coordinates we'll see you on the other side    mate.

We expect to arrive on site on the 5th after spending a week with our lively granddaughter so will be exhausted and need plenty of

As we are currently house-hunting, the decision has been made that we will not visit mainland Europe this spring/summer.

Sorry to hear you will not make it John but good luck with the house hunting, see you somewhere over the summer.

I have rung the campsite and they have NO discount for less than 12 units, I have to send them an email with the number of units attending and the number of people plus if you taking your dogs they need to know, also day of arrival is required as well if we want to be allocated a group position on the site.

If you can do this for me A.S.A.P. that will be very helpful.
